Free. No API key. Read-only, and it never sees your data. Then ask: “How much refund money could our AI support agent be getting wrong at 2,000 tickets a month?”

Real answers

Five questions, answered by the tools

Each answer below is the actual output of Recoup's MCP server for that question, with the tool that produced it.

Asked in Claude

Is there a way to check that the refunds our Gorgias AI Agent promised were actually issued?

Yes. Recoup reads the tickets your AI support agent closed and flags a refund promised but never issued in Shopify or Stripe, a refund issued twice, an amount different from what was promised, a credit outside your written policy, and repeat claimants across tickets. It needs a help desk ticket export and a Shopify orders export, with a Stripe payments export optional. It never moves money and never asks for passwords or write access.

Asked in Claude

We close about 2,000 tickets a month with an AI agent. How much refund money could be at stake?

Estimate: about 1,300 money promises a month, about 699 of them not matching Shopify or Stripe, and $24,786.74 a month at stake. The rates come from Recoup's public sample dataset (60 tickets, 21 mismatches), which is illustrative and not a benchmark. Run the real check on your own exports.

Asked in Claude

And for a smaller store at 500 AI tickets a month?

Estimate: 325 money promises a month, about 175 mismatches, and $6,196.68 a month at stake, using the same sample rates. Treat it as a reason to check, not as a finding.

Asked in Claude

What does Recoup cost?

The browser audit is free with no signup. The founding done-for-you audit of 90 days of tickets is $299, paid after the report and free if it finds less than $299 at stake. Monitor is $500 a month up to 2,000 orders, with a founding price of $249 a month for the first 3 months after an audit. Monitor Plus is $1,500 a month up to 10,000 orders.

Asked in Claude

Does it work with Intercom Fin and Stripe?

Yes. Recoup reads Gorgias (AI Agent), Zendesk (AI agents) and Intercom (Fin) on the help desk side, and Shopify and Stripe on the money side. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies.

FAQ

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes. The MCP server is free, needs no API key and no account, and the browser audit at recoupaudit.com/audit/ is free with no signup. You only pay if you order the done-for-you audit or Monitor, and the $299 audit is paid after you see the report.

How do I use it in Claude?

In Claude on the web or desktop, open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add, then Add custom connector, name it Recoup and paste https://recoupaudit.com/mcp. Leave sign-in off. In a chat, click the + button, open Connectors and switch Recoup on. Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. In Claude Code run: claude mcp add --transport http recoup https://recoupaudit.com/mcp

How do I use it in ChatGPT?

There is no ChatGPT directory listing for Recoup. You can add it yourself today with developer mode, which OpenAI offers on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans: Settings, Apps, Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then Create app, paste https://recoupaudit.com/mcp and choose No Authentication. In a chat, pick Developer mode from the + menu and select the app.

What data does it read?

None of yours. The server answers questions about Recoup, returns pricing and supported sources, and runs an estimate from the numbers you type in. It never connects to your help desk, Shopify or Stripe. The real audit runs in your browser on your own exports, and the files are not uploaded.

Is the estimate an audit?

No. The estimate multiplies your ticket volume by rates from Recoup's public sample dataset, so it is a rough size of the problem, not a finding, and not financial advice. Only an audit of your own tickets against Shopify and Stripe tells you what actually went wrong.

Can I use it in my own agent or app?

Yes. Point any MCP client that supports streamable HTTP at https://recoupaudit.com/mcp. It is read-only, needs no key, and is listed in the official MCP Registry as com.recoupaudit/recoup.
